JUMP START
Did you know that 1 in 3 familiar cannot afford to enroll their kids in organized sports? That’s almost 750,000 kids every year who want to play, but just can’t. Jumpstart aims to change that by helping families that need a financial hand with registration, equipment and/or transportation costs. Across Canada, Jumpstart has 330 Chapters, which are made up of volunteers from across the Canadian Tire enterprise and local community groups such as local Parks and Recreation Departments, and the Bow Valley is lucky enough to have such a chapter. Money raised within each Chapter stays within the community and goes directly to help kids participate in sport, dance or other physical activities.
In 2014, the Bow Valley Jumpstart Chapter was able to assist 109 children between the ages of 4 – 18 years old and this year we would like to surpass this number by bringing Jumpstart awareness to the community through our local sporting organizations like yourself. I was wondering if you would be willing to assist us in spreading the work about Jumpstart and the funding available for those less fortunate, in turn giving kids a sporting chance. Would you be willing to add a link to Jumpstart on your website? The link is http://jumpstart.canadiantire.ca/en/ .
